Transforming Rural Poverty - employing people with LITTLE or NO Education - through a replicable business model.

We have developed a

business model to transform rural poverty – employing the rural youth with

LITTLE or NO Education. Non-English speaking people who have never seen a

computer will undergo specific training in skills like English skills, working

on computers, analytical skills, etc in the span of 4-6 months and

employed(generally in a BPO) in the village.

When this is replicated in the

villages by many other entrepreneurs – it would result in economic

transformation of many villages.

We conducted a proof

of concept wherein we trained 8 non-english speaking villagers who had ‘never

held a pencil’ - to be able to speak, read, write English, work on a

computer(with typing speeds of around 60 words per minute!) and many other

things, in the span of 8 months. They are now working in our BPO on an

insurance project.

Some of the videos of

the candidates after the training and before the training are below.

We are now

setting  up a batch of 120 people with 0-5 years of schooling in India and working on raising the funds etc.  Please contribute by sending the mail to rajesh.bhat@f4life.org.

One of the finer initiatives I have seen in Bangalore. Love the idea and it looks pretty scalable.
