 This is a podcast of a discussion based on an interview with Prof. V. K. Ramachandran. He says that the social progress in India since independence is not much and has even worsened in some parts of the countryside. Prof. Ramachandran is a research professor in ISI, Calcutta. He lists the problems that plague the countryside in India . He is a researcher and statistician and lists the three main new inequalities in rural India, inequalities in social classes, inequalities between regions and inequalities between crops.
