RBS Invites Outstanding Teachers To Join Its Faculty


THE SCHOOL: The Rajghat Besant School is a premier co-educational, residential school run by the Krishnamurti Foundation India. In 1934, the renowned seer and teacher J. Krishnamurti chose a wooded, 300-acre site near the ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the expansive Ganga to create quite an extraordinary school. It preserves simple, universal human values alongside a modern, liberal education. Learning is not driven by fear or authority, regimentation or rote. Here, the whole movement of life is learning.


LOCATION: The school is well connected by road, rail and air. Varanasi Junction, Kashi and Mughalsarai stations serve the city. Rajghat’s proximity to historic centres of learning like Varanasi and Sarnath make it very special.


ACADEMICS: RBS is an English medium school affiliated to the CBSE Board. About 260 boys and girls stay on campus and a few are day scholars. At the Higher Secondary stage, the school offers Science, Commerce and Humanities as options. Class strength is never more than 25, so children get individualized learning opportunities. Separate libraries for the Junior and Senior schools, games facilities and the pursuit of hobbies make campus life interesting.


STAY: Teachers get free accommodation on campus. School rules allow spouse and 2 dependents to stay with the teacher, though provision of suitable accommodation is subject to availability. Housing is simple, adequate and comfortable. Nutritious vegetarian food is provided by a common dining hall.


REMUNERATION: Committed educators will find our offer more than intviting. Besides free accommodation and food (subsidized charges for dependents), PF and Gratuity, teachers’ children of school-going age are admitted automatically in RBS and tuition fees waived for 2 children.

REQUIREMENTS:

SENIOR SCHOOL:(CLASSES IX – XII)
All these positions require PG degrees in the relevant subject, with at least 5 years’ work/teaching experience.

MIDDLE SCHOOL: (CLASSES VI – VIII)
Must have at least 2 years’ teaching experience, and be fluent in English. A B.Ed would be very useful.

LIBRARIAN: Qualified in Lib. Sc., with at least 5 years’ work experience in managing a library in an educational institution; must be able to engage with children to create a love for reading.

ARTS: Music / Dance: Teachers trained in classical Indian music / dance with at least 3 years experience in teaching/ public performances.
