Appeal for Talented Students Sponshorship (TSS) Program 2010-2011

Education is considered by most as a birthright of every child. Education builds minds; and only thoughtful, creative, sensitive and energetic minds can be creatively used to build a nation's future.

Talented Student Sponsorship, popularly known as TSS program, is the core for MUKTI’s strive to eradicate illiteracy through education primarily in West Bengal. This noble program identifies talented students who are in dire need of financial support for furthering their education; and subsequently provides them with funds necessary to continue studies.

At present the program is supporting more than 100 students from these regions and with the help of generous volunteers, it plans to increase it to more desirable and needy students from the poorer sections of the society. For further elaboration in the year 2010-11 more than 400 talented but financially challenged students are in need of support. To further MUKTI’s realization of the dreams of these people, funds are required from the supportive well-wishers. The funds required to sponsor per student per year ranges from INR 6,750-13,500 (approximately USD 150-300), and covers the following:
• All required subject based textbooks
• Other required expenses like school fees, exercise books, pen, pencil etc.
• A school uniform
• Messing and fooding expenses
