Azim Premji University
The cabinet has given an in-principle clearance for Wipro chairman Azim Premji's ambitious project to set up a private university for tionists and teachers. "They are yet to decide on the place though they have plans to set up regional centers across the country," state higher education minister Arvind Limbavalli said. The cabinet has decided to introduce a Bill (Azim Premji University Bill) in this regard in the upcoming assembly session. "The university will not only to train teachers, but even administrators and non-teaching staff of the education department," Limbavalli explained. Azim Premji Foundation has agreed to deposit Rs 25 crore with the government for the project
