Avoid water borne diseases-use Solar Water Heater-Save Fuel-safeguard children's health
Target: All those who have installed Solar Water Heating Systems on roofs
Health authorities, all over the world keep issuing warnings that citizens must boil the water being supplied through taps to avoid water borne diseases. But we have to use scarce fossil fuels or electricity for killing the bacteria present in the municipal supplied water.
Boiling water for bathing and drinking:
Many homes in urban/semi-urban areas have installed Solar Water Heating systems. Such people can use the solar system to get boiling water for drinking minus the harmful bacteria, cool it and be healthy. In case there is not much of sunlight, by using minimum electricity to heat up the heating element that is provided in the system, one can bring the water in the drum to the boiling point. Thus, If we can adopt the following method we get clean and healthy drinking water.
Boiling water for cooking:
If we can adopt the same method and use the hot water for cooking purpose, precious fuel like cooking gas, electricity and consumption of water can be minimised. This way, we can contribute our might to reduce carbon footprints through burning of fuels for generation of electricity and less consumption of fossil fuels.
Natural resources are being exploited at an unprecedented rate; their consumption is increasing by the day; scarce fuels are being misused for avoidable purposes than for human consumption resulting in more and more emission of carbon dioxide and other green house gases. One unit of electricity saved is equal to 3 units generated because the cost for generation is becoming unaffordable. Poor man conserves better than a rich man but poor man gets less and rich man gets more than he deserves and to misuse. All these have to be avoided.
