Some responses received:

Greetings from Parivartan Shikshan Sanstha.

Thanks a lot for giving this oppertunity that to give more access of computers & computer literacy for the children living in the slum areas of Mumbai. Also we appreciate your initiative to provide computer systems to the voluntary organizations.

Currently we are running a computer institute at AntopHill Slum area of Wadala(E), Mumbai-37,offering 3 courses with very low fee for giving computer literacy to the people in the disadvantaged area. We require 10 computer systems for our organization. Which we can use for computer institute and our resource centre in the same premise. Which give more access to the children to use it. We will collect the systems from your premise.

Parivartan Shikshan Sanstha is working in the area of Childrights & Children's education since 1997 particularly in AntopHill, Wadala(E), Mumbai-37, and the slum areas of Mumbai, and it is registered on 2001 under U/s 18 of The Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950,(Reg. No.E-19355 dated 24/4/2001).

Parivartan Shikshan Sanstha is supported by human right activists and strongly believes and practices ‘education as basic child right’ works for its enhancement without any biasness-like religion, caste, culture, language and gender.
Currently we are running balwadies, resource centres, play centre, reading hall, toy library, computer institute, child right initiatives, educational, malnutrition surveys, house demolition issues, water issues, etc and jointly work with sister organistions such as Janta Ka Aaina, and Jan Jagruti for media, and human right issues.

We hope that the children, youth, and women in this area will get benefited through the systems which we would be received from you. Lets work together for the development of marginalised people.

Subject: Request for Computers At The Orphanage Home in KHOPOLI

Inspired and motivated by the altruistic noble ideals of this great Nation,

Vedanth Welfare Foundation has set up a home for the deserving, totally ignored and neglected young girls in the age group of 18 to 22 years and senior women citizens, at a facility near Khopoli in a small plot of land with about 1500 square feet of constructed space...

There are government sponsored remand homes where many children orphaned due to various reasons are sheltered and these children go through formal school education. Once they reach 18 years of age, they have to, as per the rules, leave the remand home and mend their own ways. This is a big problem especially for the girls who have no known relatives and nowhere to go. Considering the economical backwardness and sheer pathetic situation of some of these deserving destitute, VWF pledges to mitigate the hardship and alleviate their agony by providing decent facility of boarding and lodging at ZERO COST to the inmates. Besides providing an accommodation and a peaceful life to these destitute, VWf also feels that they have a responsibility to chart out a dignified life and future for the girls in the remand home. VWF has provided accommodation to 12 such destitute in the age group of 18-22 years. Apart from accommodating them VWF has also ensured that these women get admission to nearby higher secondary schools and colleges to advance their ability to lead a life with dignity. Today, every aspiring youth is keen to be computer savvy and knowing that without the knowledge of computers it will be difficult to get employment. VWF plans to provide accommodation to at least 75 to 100 such women in the next 2 years, while VWF is trying to expand the infrastructure through munificent contributions from philanthropic individuals and institutions, VWF plans to install computers to facilitate the inmates to undertake training and thereafter some job work as well while pursuing their academic education.

We therefore request you to sanction at least 15 the state-of-the-art computers. VWF will undertake to maintain these systems and with the help volunteers who are knowledgeable in information technology, we will be able to train these inmates effectively. You are one such organization who has been in the fore-front helping such noble causes and we are confident that you will favorably consider our request and donate at least 5 computers to our foundation. Should you need any additional information, we will be too pleased to provide the same.

Thanking you

One more response:

Sub: Request for Donation of Computers for our Rural Development Programme at Rajgurunagar, Pune

Our Trust i.e. Bombay Mothers and Children’s Welfare Society (BMCWS) is an NGO working in area of health care for Women & child, education, rural health and rural development. We have four hospitals, two Cancer Patients Convalescent Homes, Four Crèches spread in the weaker section of the society of Mumbai & rural part of Maharashtra.

We are running Rural Development Programme in 43 Villages around Rajgurunagar. We are working in the different sectors like Health Care, Education, Social Development, Sanitation & Environment and Micro Finance.

We have a computer lab having generator backup and with 50 computers within the Rajgurunagar premises. We have started career courses like MS-CIT, Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms-Power Point, Tally 9.0, ‘C’, C+, C+++ Programming, Java Programming and interactive spoken English. 2315 students are learned basic computers & 1705 students passed MS CIT exam. 181 students benefited in earn & learn programme. This has encouraged students to go for higher studies, get job opportunities like Computer Faculty, Data Entry Operator, etc.

288 students appeared for 1st level of Science Olympiad Exam with 100% result. 19 appeared for 2nd level and 11 passed.

We have provided 2 to 3 computers in 51 primary schools, with invertors & internet facility in 11 high schools. 250 teachers & 1000 children of these schools trained in basic computers.

We have been imparting basic computing knowledge to housewives to create awareness about necessities of computer knowledge.

Adult Literacy Programme (ALP) was introduced in 43 villages. Out of 43 villages ALP is completed in 16 villages & it is on going in remaining 27 villages. For this purpose, TCS provided CDs in audiovisual format, also making it interactive. The participation was overwhelming. The success of the programme attracted numerous villages from all over India to visit our ALP centers to get the insight of the programme.

TCS – CMC LTD.

· Up till now 287 batches are completed of Computer training.

· 13 candidates starting their course in hardware and networking at CMC LTD. Pune starting from 01.11.2011.

· Another batch of 13 students is also getting ready to start their course from a suitable date from CMC.

· All these boys are doing their college and have decided to do the course as a vocational training.

Our Trust has now decided to set up an advanced Rural Development Programme at Rajgurunagar.

There are total 50 computers in our Computer Lab. We have provided 54 computers in 42 schools. There are more than 30 schools that require computers.

Some of the computers available with us are outdated and not working in the proper condition. So, we are in need of more Computers for our Rural Development Programme to carry out the development activities in technologically advanced manner.

Our Trust has been working in the field of Women & Child Health Care from last 92 years through its four Hospitals and five Day Care Centers. Taking into consideration the poor and weaker class of the society, our charges are just and nominal.

Sir, if you could give us donation of computers that are available with you it will be a great help to our organization. While eagerly awaiting favorable consideration, we sincerely thank you in anticipation for the same.
