Dear All,
On behalf of Sri Guru Raghavendra Charitable Trust, I would like to post this request.
Our School Sri Guru Raghavendra Vidyaniketana, run by Sri Guru Raghavendra Charitable Trust, is located on outskirts of Bangalore, in Doddaballapur taluk. It is placed in a hamlet called Lakkasandra which is 16 kms from Doddaballapur and is surrounded by 40+ villages in a radius of 12 kms. These villages lack basic facilities like public transport, roads, Schools etc. We started this School ten years back with an intension to give free quality education for farmer and daily wages class children in these villages.
Children here had to walk few kilometers to get their Schooling. School decided to give free transport to all students with one School Van and two School buses. These buses cover 40+ villages in surrounding area and provide free pickup and drop to all students.
Due to increase in fuel prices and bus maintenance costs, and the School does not have any external support for bus maintenance, it is becoming difficult to maintain existing buses. The School has 300+ students in current academic year and we see lot of demand from other villagers and expect increase in strength for next academic year. We are not in a position to buy new buses and maintain them. To reduce the burden over buses and to increase the health of higher class students, we have decided to issue about 100 bicycles to higher class students, both boys & girls, situated within 10km. radius, free of cost. When they complete SSLC, they need to return the bicycles to school. For this we will have agreement with respective parents and students. This reduces cost of maintaining buses which has become very high now a days after intermittent increase in diesel cost and driver & cleaner salary and maintenance cost.
Please visit our School website for more details: www.sgrv.org
Could anyone please guide us on this.
Please let me know if you need more information
Thank you
Regards,
Sreedhar
